Bargain Hunter

Paul is up and running with the bathroom renovations–the floor is completely torn out now, removing all the rotted wood that was in that area due to leaks. Meanwhile, I continue to find items we’ll need for our house as the renovations progress. Here’s what we’ve gotten lately.

I’m pretty happy with this haul! Even though buying renovation materials and decor through these means is somewhat time-consuming, I must say that it’s rather fun. It also has helped our budget immensely — for example:

  • oak balusters: ~$4 each at the hardware store (Craigslist savings: 70% off)
  • cast iron, double bowl kitchen sink: ~$400 (ReStore savings: 94% off)
  • chrome bathroom light [photo]: $90 at Home Depot (ReStore savings: 94% off)
Not bad!
