Finding Our Path

We have cement paths around about three sides of the house.  However, you wouldn’t know it if you looked–the sandy soil combined with a few years of un-raked leaves all but completely covered these paths up.  This was a project I’ve had my eye on since the snow melted.  And this past weekend the guys were working on construction stuff inside (more on that next post) and the weather was beautiful, giving me the perfect opportunity to get it done.  Here’s where I started:

Needless to say, half a day later we were looking at a huge difference.  The path on the south side of the house is actually really pretty and in very good condition.  Here’s another angle:

The result of about a half day of manual labor.

I still have to dig out the path behind and in front of the house, but this is kind of a fun accomplishment, right?  Next step for the exterior is to continue to deal with overgrown areas around the house and garage, and then *gasp* it’s time to paint the stucco to get rid of the old powder-blue paint.
