Photo of the Week: Through the Roof

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, folks.  All projects at the house have essentially stopped to focus on getting the roof done.  Every waking moment (and some sleeping ones) has been spent thinking about this roof.  We’ve made significant headway: all the shingles on the second-floor roof and the roof over the kitchen are off, and we’re currently getting all the decking prepped for putting on the underlayment.

Paul and my dad on the roof over the front porch.

There’s a lot left to do on this project, and I’d be lying if I said that it wasn’t stressful.  Posting will probably continue to be kind of thin for another week or so, and then it’s painting and plumbing time!

About Leigh

Born and raised in Rochester, MN, Leigh moved to the Twin Cities in 2004 for college. She stayed, and now works for a south metro city in the recycling department. In February of 2011, she and Paul bought a neglected farm house in the city to start our own urban hobby farm.

  1. Emma says she wants to help too! We are still planning on coming up the middle of August. If nothing else we can bring you a picnic lunch…
We have a friend in St. Paul (NE) we will stay with. Will be calling you
for directions as the time gets closer.
Meanwhile, hope things all go smoothly.

    • How wonderful! Can’t wait to see you and Emma! It’s been way too long. I look forward to hearing from you in a couple weeks so we can plan it out.
As always, thank you for the well wishes. Things are going more smoothly than before, so hopefully it continues that way!
